रक्षाबंधनाची अनेक पुराणकथा आहेत. सर्वात प्रसिद्ध कथा आहे श्रीकृष्ण आणि द्रौपदी यांची.
एकदा श्रीकृष्णाच्या मनगटाला जखम झाली आणि रक्त येऊ लागले. द्रौपदीने लगेच आपल्या साडीचा तुकडा फाडून त्याच्या मनगटाला बांधला. कृष्णाने त्या क्षणी वचन दिले — “मी तुझे नेहमी रक्षण करेन.”
पुढे महाभारतात जेव्हा दुर्योधनाने सभेत द्रौपदीचा अपमान केला, तेव्हा कृष्णाने आपले वचन पाळले आणि द्रौपदीचे रक्षण केले.
आणखी एक कथा — देव आणि दानव यांच्यात युद्ध होते. देवांची राणी शचीने आपल्या पती इंद्राच्या मनगटावर रक्षासूत्र बांधले. इंद्राला युद्धात विजय मिळाला!
तेव्हापासून श्रावण पौर्णिमेला बहीण भावाच्या मनगटावर राखी बांधते — प्रेमाचे आणि रक्षणाचे हे अनमोल बंधन!
The story behind Raksha Bandhan: The most famous legend is of Krishna and Draupadi. When Krishna’s wrist was wounded and bleeding, Draupadi immediately tore a piece of her saree and bandaged it. Krishna promised — “I will always protect you.”
Later in the Mahabharata, when Draupadi was being humiliated in court, Krishna kept his promise and protected her.
Another legend: Before a great battle between gods and demons, Queen Shachi tied a protective thread (raksha sutra) on the wrist of her husband Indra. Indra won the battle!
Since then, on the full moon of Shravan month, sisters tie a rakhi on their brother’s wrist — a priceless bond of love and protection!
रक्षाबंधनाच्या आधल्या रात्री अनन्या झोपेतच उठली. उद्या भावाला राखी बांधायची होती. पण तिची राखी कुठे गेली?
ती इकडे-तिकडे शोधू लागली. राखी सापडेना. तिला रडू येऊ लागले.
तेव्हा दादा उठला. “काय झाले?” त्याने विचारले. अनन्याने सांगितले — “माझी राखी सापडत नाही. आता मी तुला राखी कशी बांधू?”
दादा हसला. त्याने आईच्या साडीचा एक धागा घेतला. “अनन्या, कृष्णाला द्रौपदीने साडीचा तुकडाच बांधला होता — आठवतं? खरी राखी म्हणजे धागा नाही, प्रेम आहे!”
अनन्याने हळूच त्या धाग्याने दादाच्या मनगटावर गाठ बांधली. “दादा, तू नेहमी माझ्यासाठी थांबतोस — हे माझे सर्वात मोठे रक्षण आहे.”
दादाने तिला मिठी मारली. “आणि तू माझ्यासाठी प्रार्थना करतेस — तेच माझे रक्षाकवच आहे.”
दुसऱ्या दिवशी दुकानातून नवीन राखी आली. पण अनन्याने तो साडीचा धागा जपून ठेवला — कारण तीच खरी राखी होती. 🪢💜
The night before Raksha Bandhan, Ananya woke up worried. Tomorrow she had to tie rakhi on her brother’s wrist — but her rakhi was missing!
She searched everywhere. She started to cry.
Dada (elder brother) woke up. “What happened?” Ananya told him — “I can’t find my rakhi. How will I tie it now?”
Dada smiled. He took a thread from mother’s saree. “Ananya, remember how Draupadi tied just a piece of saree on Krishna? A real rakhi isn’t the thread — it’s the love!”
Ananya gently tied the thread around Dada’s wrist. “Dada, you always wait for me — that is my greatest protection.”
Dada hugged her. “And you pray for me — that is my shield.”
Next day a new rakhi came from the shop. But Ananya kept that saree thread carefully — because that was the real rakhi. 🪢💜
