🔊 A nasal “ng” sound — like the end of “sing”
हे अक्षर खास आहे — This letter is special!
ङ is a real Marathi letter but it never starts a word in modern Marathi. You will never see a word beginning with ङ in everyday use. However, the ङ sound appears hidden inside many common words — your child is already making this sound without knowing it!
🗣️ हा आवाज कसा काढायचा — How to make the ङ sound

Say the English word “sing” — notice the “-ng” at the end. That nasal sound is ङ!

Now say अंग (ang) — body. The hidden nasal sound before ग is the ङ sound.

Your tongue touches the back of your throat — same position as क, ख, ग, घ — that is why ङ belongs to कवर्ग!
